CommentI have found the Eastern Yellow Robin to be one of the more inquisitive birds. It will often fly in and perch nearby to check out what you are up to. This bird went the extra mile to make it easy for me, first by flying in and perching right in front of me (this image), then by taking to the air for a short flight before reperching in the same spot for a different angle (image 62578). Very accommodating!
EquipmentEquipment: Nikon Z8, Nikkor Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S
Settings: 600mm, f/6.3, 1/1000s, ISO-3200
Workflow: Processed in Lightroom and sent to Photoshop for downsize, sharpen and export.
Field notes: I needed to adjust my position slightly to keep a very bright background area out of the frame.
Processing notes: This was a particularly vibrantly coloured robin. After processing was completed, I backed off the saturation a little so it represented an accurate depiction of the bird.
