CommentThe Tawny Frogmouth is a master of hiding in plain sight. This one opened its eyes briefly before slowly closing them and returning to sleep.
EquipmentEquipment: Nikon Z8, Nikkor Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S
Settings: 600mm, f/6.3, 1/640s, ISO-2500
Workflow: Processed in Lightroom and sent to Photoshop for downsize, sharpen and export.
Field notes: I underexposed the bird a little when the photo was taken, as exposing it correctly may have resulted in blowing out the bright background foliage.
Processing notes: Shadows on the subject needed to be raised a little as a result of the approach mentioned in the above field note. Additionally, an extra radial mask was added to the face only to raise just those shadows a little more.
