CommentAn immature Collared Sparrowhawk with prey, an unexpected sight in the middle of a city suburb, on the boundary fence of my neighbour's backyard and a local schoolground. Both native and introduced birds are fairly common in this locality, partly due to the number of native shrubs and trees commendably planted by the school, but this bird has made a meal of what is almost certainly a Spotted Turtle-Dove.
