| Comment | This image was the result of the old number one rule for taking bird photos: 'Be there'. The morning low horizon Autumn sun provided both a soft light and light angled in the right direction to avoid issues with shadows. In terms of composition, the dead pine provides a nice mass balance with the bird. The pine also reflects a faint golden tinge from the sun's rays. I sized the crop to give the bird some space in which to look but may be the crop above and below the bird is too tight. | ||||||||||||||||||
