CommentI was at Uluru taking a photo of the sunrise but was distracted by the constant bird singing to my left.Once I had my photo my attention turned towards the bird as I thought it may be a Striated Grasswren which I had not seen before. This little bird sat on top of the bushes and sang his heart out obviously not happy with me being there. After a minute or so disappeared into the bushes never to be seen or heard again. I went back the next two mornings but didn't hear or see him again. I was advised later by more knowledgable people than I that it is a Sandhill Grasswren. A very lucky capture at first light.
[Moderator's Note: Sandhill Grasswren is a (proposed) species split from Striated Grasswren. Under the C&B taxonomy used on this site, it is a Striated Grasswren.]
