CommentThese birds were feeding on fallen berries of the introduced invasive weed, Camphor Laurel. The photo was taken out of the car window to prevent disturbing them. However, another car came past shortly after this photo was taken and they all flew off. The image includes male (dark grey plumage) females (paler grey plumage) and juvenile (grey head) pigeons and female King Parrots. It was getting late in the afternoon, necessitating a slow shutter speed.
EquipmentCamera: Olympus E-M1 Mk II
Lens : Panasonic Leica 100-400; F4.0-6.3
Exposure: 1/50; F11; ISO 2000; Lens focal length 173mm.
The image was processed in Photoshop Elements but reducing noise using Neat Image software. The highlights and shadows of the whole image were subsequently enhanced, the image cropped, resized, and sharpness adjusted.
