CommentGentoo courtship. I was told that the male takes nest building material and presents it to the female. If she accepts it they build a nest and mate. However, the are quite particular and may reject it.
I am anthropomorphising but the ? female looks very coy.
Moderator's note: Web searches indicate this species usually builds nests with stones and the breeding cycle normally ends in March (when this photo was taken). Glenn Pure
