| Comment | I spent the summer breeding season keeping an eye on this colony in Mandurah as they attempted to nest on a vacant block of land. Development has overtaken their nesting sites and the area was very unsuitable, but around thirty pairs hatched chicks. Unfortunately only a few chicks fledged, and the remainder were killed by a predator, possibly a cat or fox. Next summer there will hopefully be a dedicated area set aside for the nesting terns. | ||||||||||||||||||
