CommentFairy-Wrens are my favourite bird, and I spend a lot of time with my locals. This image is a result of months spent with this particular family, sitting with them every afternoon or mornings on weekends, so that they became accustomed to me. After a reasonably short while they saw me as part of their environment and continued with their natural behaviour.
I chose this picture because it shows the male with his feathers erect adding some interest, and the lovely clear background, which is the morning sun shining on a field of grass behind the bird.
