CommentI chose to enter this image in the competition as it depicts interesting behaviour between two female birds and a male bird in eclipse. One of the female birds was quite submissive but the other was very aggressive .The trio were zooming around a recently felled tree and each time they landed on the stump , this interaction took place. The social structure of the Fairy-wren species is quite complex so I will make no comment as to what was happening in this image, but it certainly was a good opportunity for some action photography. All this action happened very quickly and I had no time to compose the image , so I was quite pleased that the background contained no distractions, making the birds the centre of attention.
EquipmentCanon EOS R5 ,Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM , Ext EF 2x III
1/2500 sec @ f/5.6 ISO 800 focal length 600mm Spot metering .Hand held. Processed in DPP4 and then transferred to Photoshop to reduce noise using Topaz De Noise AI,downsize and sharpen before saving.
