CommentThis rare courtship behavioural capture is special to me. It took many years for all the elements to come together. These the smallest of the Australian fairy-wrens are fast moving and hard to frame quickly. I had to act quickly and think ahead knowing the male chases the female I followed the female in focus with the sun behind my back and then the male appeared with the raised back making an offering to the female. With the uncluttered background and birds in focus it was a good day.
