CommentThis was my favourite image for 2023 for a number of reasons. It was the first time I had seen a Red-tailed Black Cockatoo and the bird sits well against the blue sky but the trees imply the reason for it being there. A small group of them were eating the pine cones in a small stand of pines on a round-about. The sun has caught the eye giving a vitality to the bird. Finally, it was my first time out with a new camera.
