Great Knot

Great Knot
CommentPatience was the key to obtaining photos of these Knots. With all the people and dog traffic along the beach you have to be prepared for the birds to be disturbed and head off to feed somewhere else. Positioning yourself in a convenient spot, lying low and waiting does yield rewards. The issue comes however when the tide reaches your position and you have to move to protect your gear. Fortunately the birds have usually moved on by that time. You can see by this image that my presence is of no consequence to them. This image was taken in the late afternoon in order to capture the light.
