Hi all talented bird photographers, My name is Amy, a newbie here from Perth, WA. I started my first basic photography lessons online during our first WA's lockdown 2 years ago. My passion in Australia's nature, bushland and wildlife has transformed into my photography. Geez...It is addictive!!! I acquired more techniques from YouTube, made lots of mistakes and learned from them. Hours and hours and hours were well spent on the fields getting to know birds and their behaviours. I was not good at remembering bird's name and their calls but managed to join Birdlife WA's excursions every now and then. That's very helpful! Joining BLP is an eye-opening experience to me. I enjoy seeing other members' works and learning more about birds. I was so unconfident at first after joining but now I think I'm ready to submit my photos to galleries and participate in one of the competitions.

Welcome Amy and good to see your first posts of the Bee-eaters on our site. I hope you get to learn more and develop your skills through the resources on our website and from contact with our members. Don't forget, we also have our BLP conference on the Gold Coast in May too, if you can make it. Don't hesitate to post any questions on our forum or make direct contact with members using the 'Contact Photographer' button when an image you like is opened.

Thank you so much, Glenn. I'm now getting to know the platform and trying to learn from it. The coming BLP conference in Gold Coast in May has been on the top on my wish list. Fingers crossed! :)

Hi Amy, thats great. I'm on the other side of the country (Sydney) and just joined. I so understand the addictive nature of bird photography, and I'm only a newbie myself.

Hi Ruth, Apology for my late response. I'm sure you will find this platform very informative and helpful for your bird photography journey as I do. Happy birding!
