CommentNote that this bird still has the faint pink marks at the base of the bill of this juvenile Australian Raven. It is one of a brood of three juvenile still occasionally being fed by adults. When perched, the wings of this bird were still well short of the tail tip. The tail is splayed because the bird is banking. The point is that using wing length and the shape of the tail in flight as aids to Australian corvid ID need to be tempered by whether the bird being assessed is a juvenile or an adult.
