CommentGrey clouds, drizzle and winds did not deter dozens of Sarus Cranes, mingled with Brolgas from a wet cornfield. The paddock had been recently stripped of corn but the remaing husks and vegetable matter must be an attractive food source.
During our 4 days in the area these large birds flew in most days. The cranes were so much more wary than the Brolgas, and mostly kept at the far end of the paddock.
On this occasion I was briefly lucky to catch a quick nearby image.
