Posting a New Topic

When posting a new topic, please ensure that you select the correct category for your post in the top drop-down box of the edit window. The default entry is the first category shown on the All Categories page; this is unlikely to be the category that you want. The Category drop-down box will be present if you click the New Topic tab in the Forum menu; if you are viewing a particular category of the Forum and you use the New Topic button in the Category Header section, the drop-down box will not be present, and your new post topic will automatically appear in the category that you are viewing.

Hi Rodney
You may be having the same problem as I did.
Login and hit 'Profile'.
Hit 'Edit' top right of screen.
Hit 'Avatar Image' under the Back button.
Hit 'Upload New Avatar '
Then 'Choose File'. The image only needs to be 200x200 pixels.
Finally, hit 'Save '.
I think, my problem was that I expected the avatar to change instantly but it first must approved by a moderator (maybe to prevent undesirable image being posted).

There's no moderation process for avatar images; the change should take effect immediately.

Fairly soon after we added this Forum to the website, I posted an item " Get Your Very Own Penguin - or whatever... " in the About Our Website category, with detailed instructions on how to do this.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your email address is shared by another BLP member, you will be unable to set an avatar image for your profile.

Hi Rob
When I first changed my avatar from the generic icon to a Barking Owl. It worked beautifully following your Work Flow. Latter on, when I tried to change to the Rockwarbler, for some reason it took about 6 attempts
I guess. It was me doing something stupid like not pressing the 'Save' button at the end.
But all good now. Your Work Flow works well.
