I was recently lucky enough to borrow a friends portable bird hide, which in turn came in the form of a comfortable light weight chair dressed up with camouflage sheeting, that closed up and resembled a small tent with a hole in the front for the lens. It allowed me to get within a few metres of Azure kingfishers, resulting in some great shots. I have previously struggled to get within cooee of these birds, and thus the portable bird hide has given me a whole new perspective on birding.

My friend mentioned that he imported his from the U.S., and after a Google search, I was not able to find anything locally. Is anybody aware of a business in Australia that retails such a product?

Cheers,

Rob.
