Dear Ian and Craig,
Many thanks, Ian, for confirming this as a Little Tern. It is the first time I have seen and photographed one, so very exciting, and I will certainly know how to spot one next time.
Craig, I'm afraid I was at WTP on two separate days in the two weeks before this week, and on the first day I missed the Black Tern by 20 minutes and on the second by 10 minutes, very frustrating. On both occasions it was seen at the Lake Borrie Outflow. Unfortunately, this week no eBirders nor I have sighted the Black Tern, although the flock of White-winged Black Terns that it was part of has still been seen this week. I will be back at Werribee next Monday in the probably vain hope of finally seeing this elusive tern.
Best wishes,
Michael
