Member voting for the Being Blue competition, which closed for entries on 23rd April and for voting on 14th May, has been analysed and the results for the top 5 images (or more in the case of a tie) in each category are listed here.  In line with many other bird/wildlife photo competitions, we present the results in the following manner: the Winner is the image which received the most votes; and we also show the next four highest placed images, rating them as Highly Commended if they received at least 90% of the votes for the winning image, and Commended for scores less than that.

Advanced Level – Being Blue

This category attracted 51 entries, from 17 photographers. 46 members voted, with the following result:

Intermediate Level – Being Blue

Congratulations to all these photographers for their quality images.

The next competition will be “Small is Splendid”.  Your entries should feature a bird, or birds, with a maximum size (as noted in field guides) of 20cm.  This competition was originally planned to open for entries in May, and for voting in June.  However, both our Photo Competition coordinators will be away at the end of the submission period, so we have decided to postpone this competition until they return.  The revised dates for this competition, and those following in this year, are shown on the 2018 Competition Themes page.  The gap in our competition program will be filled by the Australian Bird Photographer of the Year competition.
