Posting a New Topic

When posting a new topic, please ensure that you select the correct category for your post in the top drop-down box of the edit window. The default entry is the first category shown on the All Categories page; this is unlikely to be the category that you want. The Category drop-down box will be present if you click the New Topic tab in the Forum menu; if you are viewing a particular category of the Forum and you use the New Topic button in the Category Header section, the drop-down box will not be present, and your new post topic will automatically appear in the category that you are viewing.

The role of the whites and blacks sliders in Lightroom 2020 and Adobe Camera Raw is often confused with setting the white and black points. The Whites and Blacks sliders control the very brightest and very darkest parts of your image (the two narrow ends of the histogram). Their purpose is to ensure that the highest level of detail is retained whilst guarding against the brightest and darkest pixels blowing out or blocking up. This is not necessarily the same as setting the White and Black points which is frequently associated with setting the printer and monitor output levels for the brightest and darkest tones in the image and is more correctly done in Photoshop using a Levels adjustment.
I repeat that I am talking about Adobe Lightroom/ACR and Photoshop and this may or may not be the same in other software products.
